Charles County’s Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday morning to participate in the tier designation process in accordance with SB236, “Sustainable Growth and Agricultur?al Preservati?on Act of 2012”. However, a motion to approve the staff’s recommended schedule and process was defeated on a 2-3 vote.
The motion to move forward with staff’s recommended process was made by Commissioner Ken Robinson (D: 1st) and seconded by Commissioner President Candice Quinn Kelly. However, it had failed with the other three commissioners voting against it. As a result, discussion about septic bill implementation was removed from the July 23rd agenda for the Charles County Planning Commission.
The commissioners will again take the question of a policy decision regarding the septic bill up during their August 21st meeting. The commissioners will also vote on pending Developers’ Rights and Responsibilities Agreements on August 21st.
