Charles Countyโ€™s Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday morning to participate in the tier designation process in accordance with SB236, โ€œSustainable Growth and Agricultur?al Preservati?on Act of 2012โ€.ย However, a motion to approve the staffโ€™s recommended schedule and process was defeated on a 2-3 vote.
ย
The motion to move forward with staffโ€™s recommended process was made by Commissioner Ken Robinson (D: 1st) and seconded by Commissioner President Candice Quinn Kelly.ย However, it had failed with the other three commissioners voting against it.ย As a result, discussion about septic bill implementation was removed from the July 23rd agenda for the Charles County Planning Commission.
ย
The commissioners will again take the question of a policy decision regarding the septic bill up during their August 21st meeting.ย The commissioners will also vote on pending Developersโ€™ Rights and Responsibilities Agreements on August 21st.
