The Wounded Warrior Project has received a check for $1,300 as proceeds from the September 11 ceremony in Leonardtown and fundraising since then. The money was raised by the ROTC programs at the three St. Mary’s County High Schools.
The check was presented at the regular October 10 Leonardtown Commissioners meeting. St. Mary’s County School Superintendent Dr. Michael Martirano was on hand along with student and adult representatives of each school’s ROTC program. Lynn Morgan Smoot, supervisor of instruction for Fine Arts, presented the check.
