On Sunday February 3rd, 2013, “Super Bowl Sunday”, beginning at 11:00 pm four Troopers from the La Plata Barrack participated in a Checkpoint Strickeforce DUI Saturation Patrol.
The saturation was concentrated on the Waldorf areas of Route 301, Route 205, Route 228, Route 5 and Route 925. This area was selected based on a high amount of previous DUI arrests and previous DUI related collisions in that area.
During the operation, seventeen vehicles were stopped, twelve citations, seven warnings and eight safety equipment repair orders were issued. Two subjects were given Field Sobriety Tests which resulted in Samuel Eric White (56 Years Old, Waldorf, MD) being arrested for DUI.
One driver Rusty Joseph Boatman (24 Years Old, Colonial Beach, VA) was arrested for an open warrant. He and his female passenger Eugenia Shanae Gross (27 Years Old, Colonial Beach, VA) were also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance as well as possession of paraphernalia.
