On Aug. 24, St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office Deputy J. Kirkner responded to a reported assault at a Lexington Park residence.
Upon arrival he made contact with an 11-year-old victim and his guardian. Deputy Kirkner noticed visible signs of minor injuries on the victim.
The boy said that while on the school bus returning home from school, he was assaulted by being hit in the head with a water bottle and punched in the face. A suspect was developed and located.
The suspect, a 13-year-old was arrested and charged with second degree assault. The suspect will be awaiting a hearing before the Juvenile Court.
