
Leonardtown, MD – Citizens are urged to use caution when traveling this morning due to overnight winds and rain. There have been reports of some flooding and trees down. Work crews have cleaned up much of the damage, but caution is still urged for travelers.

Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speed, remain on alert and allow extra travel time this morning. Additional caution is urged while traveling on roads which have a history of flooding.

The National Weather Service has extended the Flood Warning for St. Maryโs County until 10:15 a.m. As of 3:05 a.m., the rain has ended, but creeks and streams continue to rise due to excessive runoff.

A Wind Advisory is now in effect until noon today, northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.
