Home delivered meals
The St. Mary’s County Department of Aging and Human Services is suspending home delivered meals for today (Wednesday, February 18).
Meals are available and will be served at the three Senior Activity Centers (Garvey, Loffler and Northern).
Schools
St. Mary’s County Public Schools are closed Wednesday, Feb. 18 with a Code 2 for employees.
Charles County Government
The following Charles County facilities and services are closed or canceled today, Feb. 18:
• All scheduled recreation programs, sports practices, and activities at school-based community centers
• Lackey and North Point High School indoor pools
• Port Tobacco Recreation Center
• Elite Gymnastics and Recreation Center
• Senior Centers
• Nanjemoy Community Center
• Meals on Wheels Program
• Charles County Public Schools (code two for staff)
The following facilities and services are operating on a delayed or modified schedule today:
• Curbside Recycling Collection (delayed one day)
• Charles County Public Library (all branches opening at 11 a.m.)
• College of Southern Maryland (all campuses opening at 10 a.m.)
The following facilities and services are operating on a normal schedule today:
• Charles County Government
• Crain Memorial Welcome Center
• Tri-County Animal Shelter
• VanGO Transit Service
• Charles County Landfill and Recycling Center
• Pisgah Recycling Center
• Charles County Department of Health
• Charles County Circuit Court
• District Court of Maryland for Charles County
• Capital Clubhouse
Curbside Recycling Collection is delayed one day this week. Tuesday “A” collection will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 18; Wednesday “A” on Thursday; Thursday “A” on Friday; and Friday “A” on Saturday.
Federal Government
The federal government is open with the option for unscheduled leave or telework.
College of Southern Maryland
All campuses will open at 10 a.m. on Feb. 18
Calvert County
Calvert County Public Schools Closed (Code Yellow for 12-Month Employees)
Schools closed Wednesday, Feb. 18 due to inclement weather for all students, and 10 and 11-month employees.
All emergency personnel report as usual.
All other 12-month employees report up to 2 hours late (Code Yellow).
Liberal leave is in effect. Employees must notify their immediate supervisor.
Reminder to staff and parents when schools are closed all evening activities are cancelled.
Charles County
Due to inclement weather conditions, all Charles County public schools will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 18. There is a code two, which is a two-hour delay, for staff who follow the code system. Information about who follows the code system is available on Inside CCPS. Use your ccboe email account and password to access Inside CCPS.
St. Mary’s County Government
The following is an updated status report for St. Mary’s County Government operations for Wednesday, February 18:
All St. Mary’s County Government Administrative Offices will open on time
Non-Public School Transportation will not be provided.
STS bus service will operate normally
All Recreation and Parks programs held in the public schools are cancelled. All other Recreation and Parks facilities will be open and operate at their normal time
All Senior Activity Centers will open at their usual time
The St. Andrews landfill and six (6) convenience centers will open at noon
St. Mary’s County Circuit Court and District Court will open on time
All three branches of the St. Mary’s County Library will open on time
Drivers are reminded to exercise caution when venturing out Wednesday morning as slick spots may be encountered following Tuesday’s snowfall and thaw.
St. Mary’s County will provide additional updates as warranted.
Mechanicsville Elementary
Wednesday, Feb. 18’s Mechanicsville Elementary School (Saint Mary’s County) second and third grade trip to the National Aquarium has been canceled.
Prince George’s County
Wednesday, Feb. 18, Code Orange – Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) – Schools and offices will open with a two hour delay. EMERGENCY PERSONNEL must report to work on time and are not eligible for liberal leave.
