Charles County
- All Charles County public schools are closed today, Friday, Jan. 10, 2014. There is a code two, which is a two-hour delay, for staff who follow the code system. Call the school system’s 24-hour information line at 301-934-7410 or visit the Charles County Public Schools website, www.ccboe.com, for the latest school closing information.
St. Mary’s County
- Schools Two Hour Delay: All St. Mary’s County Public Schools, including FULL day Head Start, will have a delayed opening of two hours for Friday, January 10, 2014. A.M. Pre-Kindergarten and A.M. Head Start students will not have school. However, there will be classes for P.M. Pre-Kindergarten and P.M. Head Start students.
Calvert County
- Northern Busses Late – In order to give the State Highway Administration and Calvert County more time to treat roads north of Plum Point Road, the buses at Huntingtown High and Northern High were directed to remain at the schools until 8:00am, instead of leaving after they dismiss their students at 7:12AM. Huntingtown High School and Northern High School Career and Technology Academy students will leave their home schools 45 minutes late also. Busses will arrive late to the second and third tier schools. This could affect schools as far south as Barstow Elementary and Calvert Elementary. Also students in region al special education programs will be affected.
