ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WJLA) โ Crews are still searching for a 16-year-old boy who disappeared while fishing along the Potomac River near Mount Vernon.
A Fairfax Fire and Rescue representative says the teen was fishing with a group of people Wednesday evening where Little Hunting Creek meets the river when they believe he went into the water.
The teen was last seen around 8 p.m. near the George Washington Memorial Parkway and Stratford Lane. Crews with Fairfax County fire and police departments and the U.S. Coast Guard searched through the night for the teen.

BALTIMORE โ The Coast Guard is searching for a missing teenage male Wednesday who was swimming in the Potomac River near Mount Vernon, VA.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore received a call on VHF marine radio channel 16 at approximately 8:30 p.m. from a Fairfax County Fire department boat crewmember stating they lost sight of the teenager as they were responding to call of the swimmer having trouble.
A crew aboard a 29-foot Response Boat โ Small from Coast Guard Station Washington launched at 8:35 p.m. to assist with the search.
A Fairfax County Police helicopter crew also launched to assist.
