CALVERT
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners announces county offices will be closed Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, in observance of the Columbus Day holiday. In addition:
· The county senior centers will be closed and Meals on Wheels will not be delivered.
· There will be no county bus service Monday, Oct. 8.
· Calvert Library locations will be closed Oct. 8.
· Mt. Hope, Southern, Harriet E. Brown, North Beach and Northeast community centers will be closed.
· Battle Creek Cypress Swamp will be open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
· Flag Ponds Nature Park will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
· Kings Landing Park will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
· Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center will be open with regular hours, Monday, Oct. 8.
· The Appeal Landfill and county convenience centers will be open.
· Chesapeake Hills Golf Course will be open with regular hours.
· The Calvert Marine Museum and museum store will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CHARLES
The County Administrator wishes to remind residents of changes to normal operating schedules for the month of October. All offices, facilities, and services not listed will be operating their normal hours.
Monday, Oct. 8 (Columbus Day)
All Charles County Government offices and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville will be closed.
The Nanjemoy Community Center, senior centers, Port Tobacco Recreation Center, and all school-based community centers are closed.
All indoor pools will be open 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. for open swim (Lackey, Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center, and North Point).
Charles County Health Department is closed.

ST. MARY’S
Leonardtown, MD – All St. Mary’s County Government administrative offices will be closed on Monday, October 8, in observance of Columbus Day. Offices will reopen for normal business on Tuesday, October 9.
The St. Andrews Landfill, six (6) Convenience Centers, and St. Mary’s Transit System (STS) will be open and operate as normal on October 8. However, the Statewide Special Transportation Assistance Program (SSTAP) and senior nutrition centers will be closed on October 8.
All St, Mary’s County Library branches (Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown and Lexington Park) will be open for regular hours on October 8.
The three Senior Activity Centers (Garvey, Loffler and Northern) will be closed on October 8 and there will be no deliveries of Home Delivered Meals.
The St. Clement’s Island Museum in Colton’s Point and the Piney Point Museum and Historic Park in Piney Point will be open October 8 between the hours of 12 – 4 p.m.
MDOT
GLEN BURNIE, Md. – The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) will close all branch offices on Saturday, October 6, and Monday, October 8, in observance of Columbus Day. All Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) stations will also be closed. MDOT MVA’s self-service VEIP kiosks will remain open.
