Commissioners Proclaim July at Recreation and Parks Month

The Board of County Commissioners officially proclaimed July 2010 as Recreation and Parks Month in St. Mary’s County on June 29, 2010.

The Board of County Commissioners and the Recreation and Parks Department recognize the significant value of our local parks and recreation programs and facilities, which encourage physical activity, improve the physical and spiritual health of county residents, instill an appreciation for the environment, facilitate the improvement of family relations and encourage the pursuit of a balanced and healthy lifestyle. In recognition of this, the Board of County Commissioners for St. Mary’s County did officially proclaim the month of July 2010 as RECREATION AND PARKS MONTH in St. Mary’s County and invite all citizens to visit their local parks, recreation areas and museums to experience all they have to offer.
