The Charles County Department of Public Facilities would like to notify all facility occupants and staff that the following maintenance will be taking place at the Charles County Courthouse, 200 Charles Street in La Plata.
The entrance and exit-way for Church Street parking lot and the traffic access-way to Rt.6 will be closed to thru traffic beginning on July 11, 2010 at 6 a.m., until or about July 16, at 5 p.m., to accommodate the removal of the underground fuel tank.
Work will involve removal of existing brick wall which parallels the sidewalk and existing underground fuel tank, excavation and demolition of 6,000 gallon UST, back fill with pea gravel, and re-sod existing excavated area. Additionally, sidewalks may have to be removed in order to get tank out of ground.
