Dep. Vladimir Bortchevsky responded to Rousby Hall Road and Sharon Drive in Lusby on June 28 at one minute after midnight in response to a call that a vehicle was stuck in the grass.
Dep. Bortchevsky discovered a 2005 Ford F250 van with the rear tires spinning and 100 feet of tire ruts in the grass behind it.
Making contact with the driver, later identified as James M. Schooley, 33, of Lusby, he immediately detected a strong odor of alcohol.
After failing field sobriety checks, Schooley was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, destruction of property and driving on a revoked license.
He was transported to the detention center before being seen by the District Court Commissioner.
