The Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Nov. 22 between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The Sheriffโ€™s Office is not disclosing the location of the checkpoint but signs on the roadway will advise motorists as they approach it. Officers will check all vehicles that pass through the checkpoint and drivers who are found to be intoxicated will be arrested. Delays for motorists are expected to be minimal.

โ€œThe Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office, Maryland State Police and La Plata Police Department have arrested 435 intoxicated drivers so far this year,โ€ said Charles County Sheriff Frederick E. Davis. โ€œWe will remain committed to keeping motorists and their passengers safe by preventing drinking and driving.โ€
