Leonardtown, MD— On Dec.8, 2015, Bryce Patrick Clover, 24, of Mechanicsville, who was employed as a correctional officer at the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office was reportedly engaging in a sexual relationship with an inmate at St. Mary’s County Detention Center.ย 

According to charging documents, “the inmate was under the control of the St. Mary’s County Detention Center when she was transferredย on Dec.8, 2015 to “Northstar” a treatment facility.”ย 

From Dec.8, 2015 until she was released from custodyย on Jan.22, 2016, “Clover engaged in a vaginal sexual relationshipย on multiple occasions with the inmate. Interviews with Clover and the inmate revealed she is currently pregnant, and Clover is the father of the baby,” according to charging documents.ย 

The inmate advised she got pregnant sometimeย before Jan.15, 2016 while she was still in the custody of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.ย 

According to charging documents, “While Clover and the inmate admitted that most, but not all of the sexual intercourse occurred in Waldorf, MD, Det.William Raddatz, of the St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, requested a summons for a correctional employee engaging in vaginal intercourse with an inmate when the inmate was incarcerated in St.Mary’s County, MD.”ย 

It should be noted, “Clover was off duty at the time of the incident,” according to charging documents.ย 

“At this time, Clover is suspended with pay,” according to St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jennifer Stone.ย
