On June 19, Deputies Flelage and Deputy Thompson responded to the A&E Motel in Lexington Park, for a report of a domestic assault.ย
As Deputy Flelage arrived on the scene he observed two individuals matching the description of the individuals involved in the assault.ย Deputy Flelage observed the male, later identified as John William Carey, 23 of no fixed address, push the female causing her to fall into the street.ย Both Carey and the female, identified as Cary Ann Shields, 19 of Great Mills, were extremely intoxicated.ย Deputy Thompson attempted to speak with Shields about the assault but she refused to cooperate and stated Carey only grabbed her out of the street to โsave herโ.ย Deputy Flelage arrested Carey and charged him with Second-Degree Assault.ย
The management of the A&E Motel wanted Shields to leave the property.ย Deputy Thompson told Shields she was to leave the property of the A&E Motel and not return.ย Shields initially left the property but immediately turned around and reentered the parking lot of the A&E Motel.ย
Shields was arrested and charged with trespassing.ย
