The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs made up for lost time after last nightโs rainout and swept a doubleheader over the Camden Riversharks taking Game 1 4-2 before winning the nightcap going away 7-1. Southern Maryland has now won three in a row and is now back to .500 in the second half at 3-3.

GAME 1: SOUTHERN MARYLAND 4, CAMDEN 2

Southern Maryland came from behind with four runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to win the opener of the four-game series 4-2. After allowing a run in the top of the 5th inning to fall behind, the Blue Crabs roared back for four runs in the home half. Jermaine Mitchell tied the game with an RBI single to right field to score C.J. Ziegler, who led off with a single. Jamar Walton then gave the Crabs the lead with a two-run triple to deep right-center field for his first multi-RBI game with the team. Steve Moss capped off the four-run 5th with a sacrifice fly.

Camden scratched out the first run of the game in the top of the 5th inning against starter Jake Brown. With two outs, Yasser Gomez lined a single over the outstretched glove of shortstop Bobby Stevens and into left-center field to plate Michael Albaladejo for a 1-0 lead.

Jose Morales delivered a pinch-hit RBI single in the top of the 7th against closer Jim Ed Warden but Zack MacPhee grounded into an a game-ending double play to thwart the attempted rally.

GAME 2: SOUTHERN MARYLAND 7, CAMDEN 1

In Game 2, Southern Maryland scored in five of their six innings at the dish and won convincingly over the Camden Riversharks 7-1. The Blue Crabs homered three times in the game matching the total amount of hits by the Riversharks.
