UPDATE – March 15, 9:20 a.m. – The pedestrian has been identified as Joseph Willie Hall, 48, of Waldorf. Family has been notified and the collision is still under investigation by TFC W. Scarlett.
Mechanicsville, MD – On March 14, 2016 at 6:32 am, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack responded to a motor vehicle collision on Maryland Route 234, Budd’s Creek Road, at Maryland Route 236, Thompson Corner Road, Mechanicsville, St. Mary’s County, Maryland.
Investigation revealed that a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by William K. Halt, Jr., 41, of Mechanicsville, was travelling east on Budd’s Creek Road. A vehicle in front of the Silverado stopped to make a left hand turn from Budd’s Creek Road onto Thompson’s Corner Road. The Silverado attempted to pass the vehicle on the right and subsequently struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified at this time, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
The collision is currently under investigation by TFC W. Scarlett.

Mechanicsville, MD – The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office reported a Motor Vehicle Accident at Budds Creek Road at Thompson’s Corner Road. The crash occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. Expect delays.
