UPDATED – The Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department released this summary of the Monday morning, Aug. 29 crash at Route 231/Adelina Road.

At ย 8:29 a.m., Company 2 was alerted to Hallowing Point Road and Adelina Road for a personal injury accident. Units arrived to find a vehicle into a pole with lines down. Crews secured the vehicle and found no entrapment. One patient was flown to a nearby trauma center. Company 2 operated for 20 minutes.

On a side note: while crews were working, an unknown white car drove into the scene, getting the power lines caught on their car. They continued through the scene dragging the power lines across Chief 2B’s buggy as he was getting out. Luckily, Chief 2B was not injured. However, the buggy sustained damage.

If anyone has information on this vehicle or person, please contact the firehouse or CCSO. Also please do not drive through any emergency scene, unless directed to do so, for everyone’s safety. Please share to get the word out.

Prince Frederick, MD – The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office reports Route 231 at Adelina Road has been reopened.


Prince Frederick, MD – At 8:45 a.m. the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office advised that Route 231 at Adelina Road, Prince Frederick is closed in both direction due to an accident. Reports indicate that one vehicle was involved.

Drivers can use Adelina Road to Sixes Road to bypass accident.

The Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department reports a helicopter has been requested for transporting the injured driver to a regional hospital.
