On July 24, at 3:55 p.m., Dfc. Michael Worrey responded to a residence on Sue Drive in Lexington Park, for the report of an Assault involving knives.
Investigation by Dfc. Worrey revealed the victim went to visit a friend on Sue Drive with her infant and six-year-old child when she was confronted by Bobbie Lee Coontz, age 23 of Lexington Park.
Coontz allegedly held a knife to the throat of the victim while she was seated in the vehicle and threatened to kill her in the presence of her children. Suspect Crystal Coontz, age 18 of Lexington Park, began running around the victims vehicle, displaying a butcher’s type knife, threatening to kill the victim.
Both knives were recovered from the scene by Dfc. Worrey. During the investigation Crystal Coontz continued to act in a disorderly manner and was placed under arrest. Both suspects were transported to the Detention Center where Bobbie Coontz was charged with first-degree assault. Crystal Coontz was charged with first-degree assault and disorderly conduct. Both were incarcerated pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
