Crews battle apartment building fire in Charles County

Waldorf, MD – Shortly before 10 p.m. Monday evening, May 14, crews from Charles County were dispatched to a three-story apartment building in Waldorf. The building is located on Promenade Place.

No injuries have been reported at this time. According to the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department, the blaze was sparked by a lightning strike. Several families have been temporarily displaced and the American Red Cross is on the scene assisting them. Company officials described the fire as “stubborn.”
