The College of Southern Maryland is seeking volunteers and role players
to assist in a full-scale emergency exercise to be held Nov. 7, on the
La Plata Campus. The exercise will test the collegeโ€™s preparedness in
collaboration with local first responder and emergency management
agencies. Volunteers may register to participate at
http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0548a9a828a6ff2-volunteers.

CSM is working in partnership with the Maryland Emergency Management
Agency, as well as local and regional emergency management and public
safety agencies, including police, fire and EMS in Southern Maryland, in
planning this exercise. Volunteers will serve in the roles of students
in a classroom during an emergency response incident occurring at the
campus, according to CSM Public Safety and Preparedness Executive
Director Don Frick.

Volunteers are asked to arrive at the Center for Business and Industry
(BI) Building on the La Plata Campus on the day of the exercise by no
later than 7 a.m. and they will remain until the end of the exercise at
approximately 1 p.m. Volunteers will be provided a continental breakfast
as well as lunch.

In all, the college is expecting this major exercise to include
approximately 200 volunteers. Volunteers must register at
http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0548a9a828a6ff2-volunteers.
