In the fifth fire-related incident to take place in the area in as many days, at 10 p.m. on Saturday evening, March 31, firefighters responded to Ashford Circle in Waldorf.
A passerby discovered and reported the fire when they found thirty six 3 ft trash bags had been set alight along the curb. The bags contained leaves and had been set at the side of the road for pick-up.
Five firefighters responded and had the flames under control in only five minutes. There was no damage to the structure or contents of the home.
The cause of the fire has been ruled incendiary. Anyone with information is urged to call the State Fire Marshal’s Southern Regional Office at 443-550-6820.
