Prince Frederick, MD โ€“ Several area families who might have found it a challenge to celebrate Thanksgiving in their own homes this year will have that opportunity thanks to a local nonprofitโ€™s faith that local business would deliver.

The trusting organization is End Hunger in Calvert County. The business that delivered the needed funds is Bayside Auto Group of Prince Frederick.

A ceremonial presentation of a $7,200 check from the dealership was made to the organizationโ€™s leaders Wednesday, Nov. 26 at the Bayside showroom.

According to Bayside General Manager Mark Wanamaker, $50 of every vehicle the dealership sold during October was designated to aid End Hunger in Calvert County.

โ€œI think some of our customers and employees donated more,โ€ said Wanamaker, who added that after the Rev. Robert Hahn of Chesapeake Church spoke to the Bayside workforce about the efforts of End Hunger in Calvert County, they โ€œreally got engaged.โ€

The End Hunger in Calvert County partnering food pantries provide their services to over 700 families every week.
