At Sunday’s pre-election breakfast democrats came together to support each other and keep up momentum, in what many believe will be a significant election for the democratic party. Jackie Russell, candidate for County Commissioner President, said the democratic candidates need to stand together. “We’re going to move this county forward,” said Tom Mattingly, running for re-election as county commissioner.
Sheriff Zylak, who won the primary by a smaller margin than he would have liked told the crowd of supporters that the Sheriff’s Office “is not broken, and doesn’t need fixing.”
Around 50 hours to go… many are counting. “If we can just stay in campaign mode,” commented Jack Russell. For many the final days will culminate in the last push toย the polling station. Yet the results may take several days to determine in close races as absentee votes are counted.
