Upper Marlboro, MD – Detectives are investigating the circumstances of a manโ€™s death in the parking lot of an Upper Marlboro shopping center. The decedent is Nathaniel McKinnon, 21 of Upper Marlboro.

On Monday, Feb. 13 at about 8:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 5000 block of Brown Station Road for the report of a pedestrian struck in a parking lot. McKinnon was pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation reveals the driver intentionally struck McKinnon. Detectives are investigating whether this was an act of self-defense. Officers did recover a weapon from the decedent. Detectives are consulting with the Stateโ€™s Attorneyโ€™s Office on any potential charges in this case.
