At 12:24 a.m. Nov. 28 at 12:24 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 5200 block of Browns Place in Indian Head for the report of an assault.
Officers found the suspect, Lawrence Lowell Muschette, 42, of Pomfret, hiding under a mattress with a shotgun next to him.
Muschette assaulted officers as they were attempting to arrest him. After a brief struggle, he was arrested.
A search revealed he was in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
He was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, destruction of property, fleeing and eluding on foot and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court regarding a drug charge.
