Could they be visiting for the Solomons fireworks display? Probably just looking for food! For whatever reason, the Patuxent River was visited Tuesday by as many as two dozen dolphins.

The dolphins were spotted outside of and just north of Cuckhold Creek and could be viewed from Clarkโ€™s Landing. Mike Raley and John Campbell were crabbing in the river in the early morning hours and followed many of the dolphins. They reportedly jumped in and out of the water close enough to almost touch. They appeared to be clustered in groups of about four dolphins each.
