A heavy haul for the Dominion Cove Point project is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 and finish by 3 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 weather permitting. Motorists may experience delays during the overnight move.
Traffic impacts are necessary to transport large equipment loads from a barge at the temporary pier in Solomons to the Dominion Cove Point Liquefaction Project on Cove Point Road. The transports will travel north on Route 2/4 and at several points switch into the southbound lane, still traveling north, to avoid obstacles. Maryland Route 765 (H.G. Trueman Road) will remain open from Dowell Road north, paralleling Route 2/4, throughout the heavy hauls.
Maryland State Police and the Calvert County Sheriffโs Office will control traffic to maintain safe conditions. For further information regarding large load transport information and other project updates, please send a request to CovePoint@Dom.com or leave a detailed message at 401-286-5757.
