โ€œBetter by far you should forget and smile than you should remember and be sad.โ€ย  โ€“ Christina Rossetti

It takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile so why not smile. It also causes fewer wrinkles. Okay that may not actually be true but so what. What news story nowadays isnโ€™t filled with agendas and a distortion of facts?

If you worry about wrinkles; avoid inhaling smoke, limit your sun exposure and use a lotion to protect your skin: without leaching carcinogens into your body like the FDA still allows in ourย country. CLICK HERE

Having whiter teeth has its benefits. It can make us feel better about ourselves; we may look more attractive, may even encourage us to take better care of our teeth and gums and if itโ€™s dark and you canโ€™t find your carโ€™s key hole, just smile.

We can certainly tell Hollywood and models use whiteners. Good grief. Their teeth are so white itโ€™s like a supernova every time they open their mouth. No wonder shades are so popular in LA. To me it just looks ridiculously fake and abnormal.

If you have some stains or maybe havenโ€™t been as diligent with taking care of the choppers as you should have been than why not improve what you got? Itโ€™s a new year. Why not start it with a brighter smile?

Your dentist is clearly the most qualified to help you out. This could be done in their office quickly, safely and with great results. I may cost a little more but not frying your gum and having your chicklets fall out might be worth it.

The chemicals used to whiten your teeth are usually carbamide peroxide and or a strong version of hydrogen peroxide. Your teeth and gums can become sensitive if you constantly bombard them with these types of chemicals. Your teeth shouldnโ€™t fall out I was stretching the absurd again.

So how should you attempt this at home? There are many options. There are trays that you fill with goop and wear, you could apply a coat of goo on your teeth or use whitening strips that adhere to your teeth.

Sometimes the application is once a day and sometimes more. Results vary but usually the stronger the peroxide the quicker the results. However you should not leave it on too long due to possible harm it could cause from over-exposure.

Each treatment has its own recommendations for length of time to leave the chemicals on and I would follow that. More is not necessarily always better. Four months seems to be about the average time your whiter teeth will last.

If you avoid foods that stain your teeth after whitening like: wine, blueberries, dark chocolate (Noooo), dark sauces, soy sauce, tomato products or coffee, tea and colored drinks within three days after completing your transformation. Drinking through a straw can help minimize contact of these liquids with your teeth.

I canโ€™t find one brand of whitening kits that wowed everyone on the internet but the common ingredient is usually carbamide peroxide at 22% – 38%. So if you want to go 0 โ€“ 60 with this project, thatโ€™s your ticket.

There are also teeth whitening toothpastes and mouthwashes that can slowly whiten your teeth a shade or help maintain the whiteness youโ€™ve achieved. They usually clearly state, or over-state, everything they can do.
