On October 27, 2011, Cpl Jason Maletto and Deputy Worrey responded to a theft in progress at a residence in St. Inigoes. Upon arrival, they found Michael T. Drinks 43 years old of Cobb Island being detained by the home owner. The home owner heard a noise coming from the front yard and when they went to investigate, found a van in their driveway with Drinks pouring the home owners gas into the vehicle. The home owner confronted drinks and detained him until Sheriff’s Deputies could arrive. Drinks was arrested, charged with theft and released to the custody of the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
