Sunderland, MD – On Saturday, April 2, Deputy M. Trigg responded to an automobile crash at Route 2 and Kent Road in Sunderland.
Upon arrival, Trigg met with a driver, identified as Ryan Lee Ogle, 32 of Lothian. According to charging documents, โWhile Mr. Ogle was looking at the damage to his vehicle, I looked in the open door of the vehicle. Mr. Ogle stopped what he was doing, stepped in front of me, moved things around in the cab, and then closed the door.โ While asking Ogle why he had done that, Trigg detected a “faint odor” of marijuana on Ogle.
Trigg asked Ogle if he had smoked or been around someone smoking. Ogle said “Yes, I was around someone who smoked in my car yesterday.” Ogle complied to giving Trigg the soda can that the person had smoked in the day before. According to charging documents, Ogle retrieved a red soda can “that had holes poked in one spot on the top, had burnt residue on top of the holes and the can had been crushed. Upon searching the vehicle, I [Trigg] located a marijuana nugget on the passenger floor board.”
According to charging documents, in the trunk of the vehicle, Trigg located 44 pills that were later identified as oxycodone hydrochloride. In the same pocket, Trigg located seven-and-a-half yellow bar shaped pills that were later identified as Alprazolam. In a separate pocket, Trigg located 9 suboxone packages, 8 blue and 1 orange.
Ogle was arrested for four counts of possession not marijuana, and one count of CDS: possession with intent to distribute. He is currently being held at the Calvert County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond.
Ogle has a hearing in District Court tentatively scheduled for May 2.
