ย At 3:06 a.m. Jan. 27, Trooper J. Chirichella stopped a Cadillac for speeding violations in the area of Route 231 at Hallowing Lane, Prince Frederick.
ย Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver, Carlos Mackall, 27, Huntingtown, was contacted.ย Trooper Chirichella detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
ย At this time, Mackall was asked to exit the vehicle which he complied with.ย While attempting to detain Mackall, he ran into the woods.
ย Trooper Chirichellaย requested back up, and Deputy Canning from the Calvert County Sheriffโs Office arrived to assist with locating the Mackall subject.
ย After Deputy Canningโs arrival, the Mackall subject returned to his vehicle from the wooded area.ย Mackall resisted several times on the scene, and was eventually handcuffed and transported to the Maryland State Police Barrack in Prince Frederick, where he was charged with Assault, Resisting Arrest, Possession of CDS and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, as well as several traffic citations.
ย Mackall was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center pending a hearing with the District Court Commissioner.
