Ridge Volunteer Firefighters and rescue squad members responded to a vehicle crash on Wynne Road at 2:42 a.m. Feb. 16 to find a car had struck and knocked over a power pole.

It was the third crash run for Ridge volunteers this year, and in all three crashes the drivers abandoned the vehicles.

When volunteers arrived Feb. 16 they found a SMECO pole was knocked down and in the street. As with the two previous accidents, the area was searched, with no occupants found.

At 2:14 a.m. Feb. 6, responders arrived at a crash on Rosecroft Road in St. Maryโ€™s City to find a vehicle flipped over in a ditch. The area was searched and no occupants were found.

At 10:06 p.m. Feb. 1, responders arrived at a crash on Three Notch Road, just north of Freemans Roadin Ridge. The vehicle was off the road in a large ditch, and no occupants were found.

With all the crashes occurring late at night, it is possible the fleeing drivers were intoxicated.
