At 9:33 p.m. Nov. 8, the driver of a 2000 Dodge truck was attempting to elude police by traveling at a high rate of speed east on Lockes Hill Road.

According to a Maryland State Police report, The driver, Steven R. Jameson, 43, of Mechanicsville, lost control of the truck and hit an embankment on the left side of the road. The vehicle then flipped on the driver’s side and struck a tree on the right side of the road.

Volunteer rescuers with the Mechanicsville Fire Department and Rescue Squad worked to free the trapped driver, and later transported him to St. Mary’s Hospital.

Charges are pending and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
