The Maryland State Police have harvested a bumper crop of marijuana arrests in St. Mary’s County over the last week.

On Saturday, May 12 at 3:50 a.m.,ย Trooper C. Evans stopped a white Honda Civic on Route 5 in Park Hall for an unsafe โ€œUโ€ turn. Upon contacting the driver, Evans allegedlyย smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle.ย Shadona Rochelle Reed, 21, of Lexington Park was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana.ย She was arrested for possession of marijuana andย taken to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center in Leonardtown pending a bond review.

On Sunday, May 13 at 1:46 a.m.,ย Trooper Linger initiated a traffic stop on a gold Chrysler Seabring on Route 5 at Hills Club Road in Mechanicsville for speeding.ย When heย contactedย the driver, David Matthew Morley, 27, of Leonardtown,ย Linger allegedly observedย marijuana on his shirt and on the driverโ€™s seat and smelledย a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting fromย Morley’s breath. Morley was arrested for possession of marijuana and drunk driving. He was taken to the detention center pending a bond review.

On Wednesday, May 16 at 5:33 p.m.,ย Trooper Shughart stopped a black Suzuki Vitara for an equipment violation on Triangle Drive and Oak Station Road in Charlotte Hall.ย  Upon contacting the driver, Martin Alan Eberle, 27, of Mechanicsville, Shughart allegedly smelledย burnt marijuana in the vehicle.ย Eberle was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.ย  He was arrested and taken to detention center pending a bond review.

Later that night, at 11:01 p.m.,ย Trooper Pilkerton responded to Clover Hill Road in Hollywood for a reported motor vehicle accident. While investigating, Pilkerton allegedly observed a bag of marijuana on the passenger side floor of the vehicle. Both the driver, Elizabeth Garnet Somerville, 23, of Charlotte Hall, and the passenger, Sean Foley Somerville, 26, of Mechanicsville,ย were arrested for possession of marijuana and taken to the detention center pending a bond review.
