Update- Leonardtown, Md.— On Aug 14 at 10 a.m. Judge Abrams delayed sentencing of Shade E. Eldridge, of Mechanicsville,due to the progress that he has made in the past couple months.
Eldridge faces charges that has a sentence maximum ย potential of up to ย years, and a minimum of up to 12 years.
State’s Attonery Richard D. Fritz was in attendance in the courtroom, and seemed to be in agreement with Judge Abrams.ย
“I am not objecting to giving this young man a chance, if we succeed we have done our job, if he is dirty he fails, maybe his wife is the light bulb he needed,” said Fritz.
Eldridge had a moment to speak in court and to Judge Abrams.ย
“I have had along life dealing with drugs,I am going to meetings,I have a real job for the first time in my life, I am ready to move on,” said Eldridge.ย
The sentencing has been delayed to see how Eldridge maintains his sobriety, the new sentencing hearing is scheduled for sometime in February.ย

Detectives began an investigation into the distribution of cocaine from a residence in the Mechanicsville area and the target of the investigation was Eldridge Eugene Shade aka โAlโ (Age 49).
A search and seizure warrant was executed by detectives with the assistance of the St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Office Emergency Services Team and K-9 deputies. Detectives recovered cocaine and heroin as well as cash, cellular phones and packaging materials. The drugs were packaged for sale and additional charges are pending a review with Stateโs Attorney Richard D. Fritz.
Suspect Shade is currently out on bond and is awaiting trial for โPossession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distributeโ which resulted from a search warrant executed on his home in February of this year.
