At 1:17 am, on Thursday, December 28, TFC Quade was patrolling the area of Route 235 in Lexington Park. He observed a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse traveling south on Route 235 south of Pegg Road. TFC Quade initiated a routine traffic stop for an equipment violation.
Upon contact with the driver, Stephen Andrew Chamberlain, 27, of Lexington Park, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. After further investigation, Mr. Chamberlain was arrested for DUI.
A search incident to arrest revealed a small plastic bag of marijuana and a CDS smoking device in the vehicle. Mr. Chamberlain was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia and DUI.
