On the morning of Thursday, September 1, 2011, crews from Mechanicsville VFD Co. 2, Mechanicsville VRS Co. 29, and Hughesville VFD Co. 2 EMS were dispatched along with police at 7:36 A.M. for the personal injury accident with injuries on the 29000 block of Thompson Corner Road in New Market. Additionally, Dentsville VRS Co. 15 was dispatched. Squad 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 28 responded and arrived on scene to find two vehicles involved on a front end collision with airbag deployment on one of them. Crews worked on removing the door of the vehicle with the deployed airbag to gain access to the patient. After gaining access to the patient, he was transported to the hospital and the other driver refused care. Crews worked on scene for 18 minutes.
