Dunkirk, MD – On Saturday, Dec. 20, at approximately 5:35 a.m., there was a report of an accident on Route 4 South, just south of Chaneyville Road in Calvert County.
Once units arrived on the scene they found one vehicle with two individuals involved.
There was entrapment of the driver and the passenger was able to get out.
The squad from Dunkirk handled the extraction for the entrapment and an ambulance from Huntingtown transported the passenger to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
The ambulance from Dunkirk treated the driver once freed from the vehicle and a medevac helicopter was requested for transport.
The driver was flown to Prince George’s Trauma for additional treatment.
The road remained open in the left lane most of the time except during helicopter landing and leaving. It was also closed while the tow truck removed the vehicle.
Both closures were minor and traffic was very light at this time of the day.
