Prince Frederick, MD – Early this morning, April 1, five fire departments responded to a house fire on Wilson Court in Prince Frederick.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal, an occupant discovered the fire that was started by a chimney fire that spread to the exterior wall of the residence.
35 firefighters from Prince Frederick, Huntingtown, St. Leonard, Dunkirk and Solomons Volunteer Fire Departments controlled the fire in about 20 minutes.
No injuries were reported in the fire. Damage of the home is estimated at $200,000.
The residents of the home have been displaced and are being assisted by family members and the American Red Cross.
