At 3:04 P.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2012, rescue crews were dispatched to the St. Maryโs County Regional Airport for the reported aircraft emergency. Crews responded and were informed of a small aircraft that was circling over the airport and was having landing gear problems. Contact was made between rescue crews and the aircraft and once all rescue units were on scene, the aircraft made a safe landing with out incident. After talking to the pilot, he informed us that he and aircraft are out of the Chesapeake Ranch Estates and the concern was over a warning light in reference to his front landing strut so he followed standard procedures and made a precautionary emergency landing.
