Leonardtown, MD— On March 1 St.Mary’s County Circuit Court Judge Michael Stamm sentenced Robert M. Wagner, 25, of Leonardtown to three months in the St.Mary’s County Detention Center for violating his parole.ย
Cynthiaย Panos, who was Wagner’s attorneyย stated, “I believe it is in Wagner’s best interest to enter in a drug treatment program so he can start the road to recovery.”ย
During the sentencing hearing Stamm asked Wagner if he was feeling okay, Wagner replied, “yes I am okay, I am just feeling very emotional about today.”ย
Stamm asked Wagner if there was anything else he would like to tell the court before the sentence was handed down. Wagner replied, “I am not going to make any more mistakes. I am not really good with my words; I need time to get clean. I am sorry for everything I have done.”ย
Stamm had a message for Wagner during the sentencing hearing which was, “you (Wagner) blame everyone but yourself for your actions, you are a hardcore addict. If you don’t get a handle on this, you won’t get a chance to become older. The problem in your life is you, no one else.”ย
Stamm sentenced Wagner to all this backup time, with two years of supervised probation. Other aspects that came with the sentencing were no work release, and Wagner will need to go to drug court after completing his jail sentence.ย
