The Ethics Commission for Charles County dismissed a complaint against Charles County Commissioner Vice President Reuben Collins (D) regarding his employment status with the Scott Law Firm.
The document also states that Collins will recuse himself from any votes relating to the Charles County Comprehensive Plan or “any matters involving clients of the Scott Law Firm” for a 120 day period. The commission did not find any wrongdoing in his previous votes.
Commissioner Collins’ vote to authorize retention of counsel for the Docket 90 study was considered a ministerial matter and the commission found there was no conflict of interest or appearance of a conflict of interest.
The opinion of the ethics commission was rendered on Tuesday, March 13th.
