Expect heavy traffic today due to viewing of slain firefighter

Leonardtown, MD – Motorists in St. Mary’s County can expect delays on all major roadways throughout the county, beginning midday on Tuesday, April 19 through the evening of Wednesday, April 20. This is due to the viewing of Prince Georges County firefighter John Ulmschneider, scheduled to be held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hollywood, which is expected to draw hundreds of visitors.

Delays on MD 5, MD 235 and the Thomas Johnson Bridge should be anticipated as mourners from around the state are expected to attend the visitation on Tuesday evening and funeral services on Wednesday afternoon. The State Highway Administration will have message boards in place to guide mourners to the church.
