La Plata, MD – The Charles County Fair runs through Sunday, Sept. 20. The gates will open Saturday morning, Sept. 19 at 8:30 a.m.
Nearly 800 exhibitors are participating in this year’s showcase. The displays include livestock as well as arts and crafts. There will also be live music, pony rides and pig races.
On Saturday the carnival midway will open at 10 a.m. with continuous rides until closing time.
Price of admission is $5 per person age 11 and over, 10 and under will be admitted free.
The 35-acre Charles County Fairgrounds are located just south of La Plata on Fairground Road. Parking is free at the fairground site and at the satellite parking area at the Charles County Governmental Center in downtown La Plata.
