Maryland State Police are continuing their investigation into an accident involving a horse and buggy and another vehicle that fatally injured a horse.
The accident happened on Wednesday, Sept. 30 around 10:38 a.m., on Thompsons Corner Road and Route 235 in Mechanicsville.
Investigation revealed an automobile traveling westbound on Thompsons Corner Road near Millwood Lane attempted to pass a horse and buggy in the passing lane. A horse and buggy attempting to turn into a private driveway turned in front of the vehicle striking the horse leading the buggy.
The horse was fatally injured. There are reports of other injuries, none of which are serious. The names of the injured have not yet been released.
No word if any charges will be made. The accident remains under investigation.
