
A fire that started in a small refrigerator at a Calvert County park resulted in damage to a wood structure used as a security office, state officials reported.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office the blaze on Flag Ponds Parkway in Lusby was reported by an employee Friday morning, Aug. 22 at 8:20 a.m. No injuries were reported and damage is estimated at $41,000.
โSometime between the hours the hours of 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and 8:20 a.m. Aug. 22 a malfunction occurred in a small refrigerator, igniting combustibles,โ Dfm. Don Brenneman reported.
Four firefighters from the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
The structure is 10-feet-by-15-feet and is owned by Calvert County Government.
