A fire that started in a small refrigerator at a Calvert County park resulted in damage to a wood structure used as a security office, state officials reported.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office the blaze on Flag Ponds Parkway in Lusby was reported by an employee Friday morning, Aug. 22 at 8:20 a.m. No injuries were reported and damage is estimated at $41,000.

โ€œSometime between the hours the hours of 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and 8:20 a.m. Aug. 22 a malfunction occurred in a small refrigerator, igniting combustibles,โ€ Dfm. Don Brenneman reported.

Four firefighters from the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.

The structure is 10-feet-by-15-feet and is owned by Calvert County Government.
