CSM Cause Theatre: ReEntry. 7:30 p.m., Feb. 6, College of Southern Maryland, Building B, Multipurpose Room, 115 J.W. Williams Road, Prince Frederick. CSM Cause Theatre investigates the social issue: Returning Veterans. An unflinching look at the lives of Marines getting ready for and returning from conflict, “ReEntry” is a docudrama exploration of the relationships between Marines and the civilians they fight for overseas and must contend with when they return home. Honest, moving and surprisingly funny, this play is based entirely on interviews with Marines and their families. CSM Ward Virts Concert Series: Timothy Hudson, Trumpet. 3 p.m., Feb. 16, College of Southern Maryland, Building B, Multipurpose Room, 115 J.W. Williams Road, Prince Frederick. Timothy Hudson has been a member of professional orchestras in the United States and abroad under world-class conductors. He has held the principal trumpet position with the Knoxville Symphony (Tennessee), Chamber Orchestra of Northern New York, New England Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico. Hudson is the founding member and director of the Carolina Brass. The Ward Virts Concert Series is presented by Dr. and Mrs. Henry Virts and Edward and Patricia Mehosky. CSM Tony Hungerford Memorial Art Gallery: Dystopias (Curated by Yikui Gu). Jan. 17- March 14, College of Southern Maryland, Fine Arts Center, Tony Hungerford Memorial Art Gallery, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata. Featuring the artwork of Yikui Gu (painter), Colleen Rudolf (sculptor and installation artist) and Pete Zebley (mixed-media). Gallery talk with Colleen Rudolph to take place at noon, Feb. 4. CSM Childrenโ€™s Theatre: Anansi. 2 and 7 p.m., Feb. 1, College of Southern Maryland, Fine Arts Center, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata. An original play written by CSM theater students, this tells the story of Anansi the Spider, one of the great folk heroes of the world. Sculptor and installation artist Colleen Rudolph will discuss the technical aspects of the three-dimensional art present in her work, such as casting in bronze and working with plaster.
