Ridge, MD — There are a couple of sure signs that summer in St. Maryโs County is nearing an end: schools start next Wednesday (Aug, 19) and the last fire department carnival ends this weekend. The Ridge Volunteer Fire Department carnival concludes its two weekend run Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 13-16.
According to Ridge VFD President Francis Raley there are several opportunities at the carnival to win big: โDrawn on the last night of the carnival will be a 15′ 2014 Carolina Skiff Boat with 15HP Motor and Trailer. Tickets are $10 each or three for $25. Nightly prizes and three girl’s and three boy’s bikes will be given away each night.โ
The carnival features the requisite rides, games and great food. It is open nightly Aug. 13-16 at 7 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. Proceeds from the carnival help to support the operations of the all-volunteer fire department.
The BayNetโs Photojournalist Ron Bailey attended the first weekend of the carnival and supplied the attached Photo Gallery for your enjoyment.
