Lexington Park, Md. –ย A house fire was reported Friday, June 3 at 21459 Ritz Drive in Lexington Park at 11:59 a.m. The fire destroyed the home, resulting in an estimated $35,000 in damage to both the structure and the contents contained within the home.

The 30 responding firefighters from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department took 10 minutes to get the fire under control. After putting the fire out, the firefighters noted the lack of both a smoke and fire alarm in the home.ย 

The fire was originally reported by a maintenance worker who noticed that a neighborhood house was on fire. As a result of the fire, the occupants of the house have been displaced.
